Apollo wins Ascham Homes PV programme contract
Date added 19 Jan 2012
Apollo has added to its EcoFit portfolio a £3.5m contract to deliver a photovoltaic installation programme for Waltham Forest-based Ascham Homes.
Apollo will install photovoltaic panels to 500 properties between mid-January and March 2012, helping Ascham’s residents reduce their energy bills, and improving the organisation’s carbon footprint. Ascham plans to install a total of 1000 throughout this programme.
This new contract is one of a number of similar projects being delivered under Apollo’s EcoFit programme, which has been designed to offer clients an easy access, one stop shop for sustainable property solutions. Current projects include Eastbourne Council’s Solarbourne renewable energy initiative; solar pv contracts with Glasgow Housing Association and the Metropolitan Housing Trust; and with Roddons Housing Association in Cambridgeshire, where Apollo helped access funding for the installation work across its properties.
Apollo’s Divisional Director, Adam Stevens, said: “We’re pleased to be able to add the Ascham project to the programme of work being delivered under our EcoFit service. Despite the uncertainty around the Feed in Tariff scheme, many housing providers still recognise that installing microgeneration technologies can help reduce residents’ energy bills and alleviate fuel poverty.”
