Sustainability
Lots of companies talk about sustainability but for us it is a passion. That’s why we’ve been certified Planet Positive, an international environmental mark that signifies we are actively reducing carbon emissions.
We’ve also defined clear business sustainability targets around carbon, waste, products and community with the aim of reducing our negative impact on the environment while enhancing the positive. To support these green aspirations, we have a dedicated team of sustainability experts who work with the industry standard Carbon Calculated to measure carbon emissions across Apollo and drive our WRAP waste management plan on our sites and in our offices.
Here are some examples of other green initiatives that we've introduced at Apollo:
- Our EcoFit service is designed to assess, install and advise on a whole range of solutions to help our clients reduce the carbon footprint of their properties and reduce the amount of energy used
- We’ve signed up to the Halving Waste to Landfill initiative
- As part of our commitment to Planet Positive, we’ve trained 12 Community Investment Managers from across the company to deliver workshops and assemblies in schools. We’ll engage children and their families on sustainability issues, creating links between our business, schools and the local community.
- By the end of the year, all our RLOs will be trained as Home Energy Advisors, providing tenants with the knowledge and skills to reduce their energy consumption by up to 20%
- We are one of the first companies in the country to bring Peugeot’s new iOn electric cars into its fleet
- All of our sites record their energy use through an online carbon reporting system. We log vehicles on the same system, which allows us to calculate our carbon footprint in accordance with international standards. It also helps us to efficiently identify areas of high use and produce bespoke reduction programmes.
